Il presente articolo intende affrontare lo sviluppo professionale dei docenti anziani in un’ottica di active aging per una “scuola capacitante” in cui la spinta all’innovazione delle pratiche educative richiede un agire professionale ricorsivo fatto di scoperta, sperimentazione, riflessione all’interno di una visione multi-prospettica del contesto scolastico. Si propone pertanto una riflessione sulla necessità di rilevare le dinamiche di correlazione tra il possesso delle discovery skills dell’innovatore (Christensen et al., 2011) e le condizioni organizzative e relazionali in chiave capacitativa dell’insegnante per lo sviluppo agentivo degli studenti
